Adding a News Item
To add a news item, you must be a member of the LTSC SEC (work/study group chairs and technical editors, chair, vice-chair, treasurer, secretary, information officer) which enables you to have a Plone have role=LTSC Administrator
Mostly for site maintenance reasons, please add News or Event Items to the corresponding folders.
Adding an Event
- Login (because you can read this page, you're already logged in!)
- Go to the EventItems folder -> EventItems
- Select "add item:event" from the green action bar
- As a best practice, make sure to enter:
- Title
- Event Starts (as a best practice, enter the day and time in the local timezone of the event)
- Event Ends (as a best practice, enter the day and time in the local timezone of the event)
- Event Location (as a best practice, enter the "city, country" of the event)
- Body Text
- Event URL
- Contact Person
- Contact Email
- After entering your event, you should "publish" the news item. The
easiest way to do this is from the green action bar. From the green
action bar, change the "state" from "public draft" to "published"
Adding a News Item
- Login (because you can read this page, you're already logged in!)
- Go to the NewsItems folder -> NewsItems
- Select "add item:news item" from the green action bar
- As a best practice, make sure to enter:
- Title
- Description (this is shown as a tool tip and helps for accessibility)
- Body Text
- After entering your news item, you should "publish" the news item.
